John Austin Kerr received his medical degree from Northwestern University in 1924. He spent virtually his entire professional career, 1926-1965, as a staff member of the Rockefeller Foundation. His focus was the epidemiology of malaria and the implementation of malaria eradication programs. From the description of J.
